After spending a weekend in the wilderness of Central Washington eating nothing but MRE's, me and a buddy saw this place as we headed west towards home and decided to stop in to get a real meal....and use a real bathroom. A no frills place, it's the literal definition of a roadside cafe, right off of U.S. 97 on the other side of Blewitt. Nothing fancy, the place is very casual, comfortable and inviting. Everytime we've been it's always been for breakfast, so couldn't tell you about lunch or dinner, but if they are anything like breakfast, you won't be disappointed, From the looks of the menu, it's all about the comfort food, so no duck foie gras here, only good ol'fashion home cookin'. First off you are greeted and seated in a timely manner, and no matter how busy it is, someone's always going around to make sure your cup of coffee is filled. As for the food, serious "man" sized portions. Don't get me wrong, just because the servings are big doesn't necessarily mean the food is good because you can have "man" sized portions of crap... but in the case of the Liberty Cafe, not only were the portions hefty, the food was good! I'm already a big breakfast fan as it is so eggs, bacon, sausage, hash...you really need to be an awful cook to screw up breakfast...fortunately they have a very competent cook behind the griddle and he (or she) doesn't skimp. Needless to say it was an effort to finish, but we did. My last visit I believe I had the chili omelette. If you are not hungry, I do not recommend this...have a salad and glass of water instead. We've been there several times and each time, the same: Warm greetings, food good-n-plenty and always a full stomach. Doesn't hurt the wallet either as the prices are reasonable. It's definitely become a regular stop for us everytime we're in the area and it can be yours too....and you don't have to spend a weekend eating MRE's either.

It's awesome... so says my 10 year old son and I'd have to agree. We both had the bacon burger and it tasted great. Friendly service too! A nice cozy out of the way place right off the highway. Top notch!

Ok, so the only reason this place would possibly warrant five stars is because it's the closest place to eat for twenty miles - and that's exactly what it is. As a vegetarian the only thing they have to offer are some breakfast items and and egg salad sandwich. The waitress (only one and, on a Sunday morning, the place was packed!?) was more than a bit gruff, but she did warm up as my stay went on. And the stay was a bit extreme. One hour from when I arrived and when my food (three slices of French toast) was served. I was ready to order immediately, but that didn't matter since the waitress was so frazzled it took a good 15 minutes before she even got around to take my order. She did at least let me know the kitchen was backed up (at least ten times) but it was more complaint than informative. It's a greasy spoon diner which is great if that's what you're after, but no greasy spoon is worth the ratings this place has gotten. I do wish I had tried the pies, since maybe those would have rocked my world.

Stopped here on our way back from Lake Chelan. Cute place, really nice staff. I'm a vegetarian so there wasn't a whole lot to choose from, but I ordered the egg salad sandwich with fries. Pretty simple but it was tasty. I'd come back for sure.

I'm extremely disappointed in this establishment for it's BLATANT RACISM!! A few of us were travelling back from Lake Chelan and stopped here to grab something to eat and use the restroom. My friend ended up being the only people to order food, but also asked to use the restroom. This restaurant's bathroom is on the outside of the building - attached - and you need a key for it. There are also happens to be port-o-potty on site. Well after ordering her food, my friend asked for the key to the restroom. The lady behind the counter told her that she had to use the port-o-potty. Taken aback she asked her why and the lady said because she ordered her food to-go. Huh??? Really? So after going back and forth she threw the keys at my friend and continued to berate her. My friend went to the restroom, came back and decided that she didn't want the food. Of course the woman didn't give her her money back, but that was okay. She'll dispute it with her bank. This woman was so nasty that when my friend was walking back to the car others were coming out to see if she was okay and told her that they were appalled at the restaurant staff's behavior. They seemed to be more upset than my friend was. Smh....My friend was a paying customer and didn't deserve to be treated like that. Really???? Sad to say that this behavior isn't surprising...even today. :(

I'm an advisor to college students in Olympia. Last Tuesday as they were passing through Cle Elum they stopped at this restaurant for a short break. A person working there swore at them and threatened to call the sheriff on them. We will not be returning and we will share this experience with others.

Amazing. I stopped by because I needed internet access to cancel a meeting and the two ladies were just about to close and helped me. I quickly ordered some food items (chicken noodle soup and peach pie) and drove off. I WAS IN FOR A SHOCK. The PEACH PIE was the BEST pie I have ever eaten and the chicken soup? Amazing. I live in Seattle area and will drive back just to go to this place. This is how much I love it. Wow! Send them to Triple D on the food network!

Crunchy hash browns, crisp bacon, huge omelette and a nice surprise when my 4 year old's pancake came shaped like Mickey Mouse. Very friendly people! We'll make this a regular stop on the way home from Leavenworth for sure.

The LIberty Cafe is a low-cost, family-owned country diner that serves great food in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere deep in the Cascade mountains. Huge breakfasts, classic burgers and shakes, country-fried steaks - they do it all. Leave your attitude, and your calorie counter, at home - y'all will love the Liberty Cafe!

This little roadside attraction is small with not many seats. It has the best chicken fried steak I have ever had. The food here is very good. When you are out and trekking about you should stop by this little gem of a spot a true roadside diner. Pure Americana!

As reading the so called BLATANT RACISM for KEISHA S. all I can say is WOW..... I have stopped there many times and and watch the FLOW of people come in and EXPECT to use the bathrooms. They are for sit down dining customers and I can see why. The place gets very busy and the one seater ( bathroom) gets a lot of use. So out of the kindness of the owners heart, she provides porta potties for travelers..THIS PLACE IS NOT McDONALDS lady and they owe you nothing. Thank you liberty cafe for providing those porta potties which I have used many times and by the way cleanest in the state.. And their restrooms are the same nice and clean, and this is why they are that way....FOR THE INSIDE DINERS. I see NO racism, they don't care what color you are, they are good people..yah to LIBERTY CAFE

Best bacon I ever had...Pancake was as big as the plate...my egg was cooked perfectly..the waitress was a lot of fun and made us feel at home...We are from Arizona and traveling, but if you live nearby, this is a little gem in the cool mountains..

The only bad thing about the Liberty Cafe is finding out when they are open. 07:00 to 16:00, closed in March. Breakfast is awesome. Portions are large but they do have items on the menu should you not need a full days food in one meal. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I have had but the star on my plate were the eggs, or was it the hash browns? My wife cleaned her plate, two slices of French Toast. It too looked wonderful. The coffee was good, service attentive and everything seemed clean and neat. We will be back.
